Why Have Kids at All?

I buy D magazines. Sure a lot of things in the magazine may be waaaay out of my price range, but I buy them because of the "articles" LOL (shout out to all those men who buy "those" magazines). No, really I do. I like that they have a ton of local things to do. If I never bought it, I would have no idea who the top Dr.'s and dentists were, so that when I have health care I can take my family there, I would have never known about the strawberry farm in Arlington, that I can go and pick strawberries with my kids, or the U-Pick blueberry farm some where between here, Canton and Tyler, I would have never found out about the best burger in all of Dallas/Ft. Worth (it's Wingfields), or where the best BBQ joint is. So I bought this months 'zine with an article about "The Dallas Blonde", thinking that it will tell me where to go and how to go blonde properly (something I've been obsessed with, since my hair will never do it, I should just give up at this point). Well,.... the very last article in the magazine is "The Lengths to Which I'll Go to Keep My Nanny Happy" In it the writer tell about how his wife informs him that they are buying a house for their nanny, and how relived he is when he finds out it's only $75,000 lease, to purchase agreement. (They buy her the house, and she leases to own it from them) And I quote "..Truthfully-and I did my best to conceal it-I could have cried with relief. ...I was terrified that I would be shelling out three to four hundred grand." WHAT??!!! They are buying their nanny a house???? Dude, I'm in the wrong business. He talks about how before he had children he was amazed at the lengths friends would go to keep their nannies happy; loans, medical expenses, bail for family members and cars. He also states that he has talked to her for fewer than 10 minutes in the 4 years she's worked for them and his wife is the one pushing this on him. I shouldn't be surprised it is Dallas, after all, but the fact that they are doing this begs the question, are they spending any time with their children at all? Why have kids if you are going to let some one else raise them? What a world we live in. I think I may become a full time nanny, they are obviously better off financially than me.

Oooooooooooh I love the new layout too.

I know there were SO many better choices in life I could have made before I got married. Sugardaddies, nanny jobs, cruise dancer...
I'm just a bundle of bad life decisions and it's landed me as a poor housewife in Iowa. People could learn a thing or two from me.

I always wanted to be a nanny when I was in college. I was just about to be the kind that travelled to a different state to do it and my sister warned me, "You do not want to live in a home and take care of children whose own parents can't even be bothered to care for and about. You will only get frustrated with their lack of concern for what should be the most important thing they ever do in life." I think she was right. I'm sure there are people who care and have nannies, but I think those are more rare.

How's that for blatant judgmentalism? You are welcome.

Nobody, I love your blatant jusdgementalism, just love it! I wanted to be an Au pair in France or some other European country, but then someone weirded me out by saying I would probably get a weirdo psycho family and end up dead. Plus my mom said no.
