Let's see............events leading up to mothers day, that I can actually tie in to Mothers day....
My wonderful friend Nobo who also is a mother, graced Texas with her presence and as if knowing of her arrival the weather was marvelous! With her she brought 2 other blogging royalty Tori and NCS. Both moms and hilarious. Deadly combination. Pedicures were had, a bunch of manicurists talking about us in Korean was giggled at, and yummy Mexican food was ate; and I also was finally able to try some of that Pho Nobo is always raving about. It was yummy! I ordered the small bowl, and apparently small in Vietnam is H-U-G-E in the U.S. I had a wonderful time and made some wonderful new friends. HURRAY!!
Now to Madres day. The most holiest of days outside of Christmas, Easter, Passover, Ash Wednesday, Ramadan, Hanukkah, Quanza and any other religious holiday I have over looked. Yeah, it's that important, just not in my house.
Earlier in the week Zach and Casey had made gifts at scouts for Mothers day. Casey was able to keep his a secret since he went off with the Bears. I watched as Zach made mine. SURPRISE!!! Then I went out Saturday and bought the ingredients for my Mothers day breakfast. I have learned that if I want it made right I need to do it myself since I have had to salvage every Mothers day breakfast in years gone past.
I was awaken to Casey jumping on me to wish me a "Happy Mothers Day!" followed by his well kept homemade Scout gift. I waited and waited for Zach, but he never showed....we had to give him a good ribbing just to get a hug out of him. Then he forgot all about my wheelbarrow planter that he made for me. I went and got it myself. Talk about feeling special! Jason bought beautiful flowers and surprised me with some green chili mac and cheese from Bread Winners. Waaaaahoooo!
I was able to talk to two fabulous ladies, my mom and my mother-in law.
I am also blessed to know some wonderful moms and I am so thankful for the example they are to me!
Here are some pictures I took of my wonderful gifts and my breakfast (I'll post this recipe)
